Making the Most of Life
Ask anybody what they want most in life and most people will respond with some variation of happiness. After all, almost everyone who’s happy is someone who makes the most of their life. But, it’s hard to stay happy when so many bad things can happen in life; when people are in pain, suffering, or just sadness, oftentimes they look for the quickest way to stop it.
The Hare Doesn’t Win
There’s a reason why so many people look to pharmaceuticals and medicine as a way to treat their pain. It’s quick, it’s effective, and it’s not too hard to get. If treating your pain were a race between a tortoise and a hare, pharmaceuticals would be the hare. But as we all know, the hare doesn’t win. The hare shoots off super fast and puts a large gap between himself and the tortoise, looking to win the race. But something happens to slow the hare down, allowing the resilient and hard-working tortoise to overtake the hare, crossing the line. Why does this matter? Because if the tortoise wins the race to treating your pain, what’s the tortoise?
Physical Therapy as Medicine
Medication can provide temporary relief, but it never solves the problem. Oftentimes, medication will feel like it’s weaker and weaker the more you take it, and your kidneys may become damaged after a while. However, there’s another form of medication that you don’t have to ingest, which will solve the problem of your pain so it never happens again. It’s called physical therapy! This treatment method revolves around moving your body to ease the pain and fix the issues which can cause pain. If you’re experiencing pain in a certain part of your body, then physical therapy might be the solution for you, the tortoise that will work long and hard to treat your pain.
The Benefits of Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is better and healthier than average pharmaceuticals. For one, physical therapy works to resolve the issue that causes your pain, rather than dulling it down to a bearable level. Also, in most cases physical therapy is cheaper than the constant price of drugs and is covered by most insurance providers. And finally, physical therapy can save you from other costly medical procedures like surgery!
Staying Happy in Life
I can’t promise that physical therapy will make you happy in life, that’s up to what you make of your life. But I can say that physical therapy is the best way to treat your pain and get you back to living the life you want to live. Physical therapy can get your life back on track, so you can continue to live with all your strength, mobility, and function, without the negatives of medication.
